Questions about community funding?

Past Funding Efforts

Between October 2020 and September 2022, DOH partnered with DH to distribute over $13.6 million in funds to more than 200 community-based organizations and community media outlets to respond to communities’ information needs during the pandemic. Funding needs, priorities, and activities were determined by these community partners. DOH invested an additional $5.8 million to develop and expand program infrastructure and support partner capacity building.

Current Funding Efforts

In November 2022, DOH launched the Community-Driven Outreach (CDO) program. This program will distribute $21 million in state funding to contractors serving priority communities from November 2022 through May 2024. Funding allocation is centered around racial equity with an intersectional approach, resulting in five priority communities and six priority intersections based on a wide range of public health data. Funded contractors will subcontract with community-rooted organizations and community media vendors to reach priority communities and areas of intersectionality statewide.

Future Funding Opportunities

DOH and DH recognize the critical role ongoing funding plays in your organization’s ability to serve your community. We are committed to sharing relevant funding opportunities with community partners.
