The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) recently announced Mehr Grewal as the 2023 Washington Immunization Champion for her nonprofit work with “Worth a Shot,” an initiative advocating for COVID-19 vaccination in her community.
The Immunization Champion Award is hosted by the Association of Immunization Managers and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and recognizes one person in each state who made a significant impact on immunizations.
Mehr is a high-school student, who partnered with Public Health Seattle & King County and a variety of community partners to host town hall conversations and community vaccination events.
