Gambian Talents Promotion published a music video of one of their songs about the importance of vaccination. This song, which features a dozen Gambian artists and seven African languages, was published to Facebook, where they have more than 230,000 followers.
As community partners in this project, GTP recognized the power of music as a cultural driver for shifting norms and educating the West African community in Washington about COVID-19. With this in mind, they wrote, produced and published a traditional West African song about COVID-19 vaccines. A music video was produced to broaden the reach of the song. The song and video feature 12 artists singing in seven different languages about vaccine hesitancy, the dangers of myths and misconceptions, and the facts and benefits of getting the vaccine.
