A New DOH Infographic Highlights Importance of Bivalent Booster

December 6, 2022

According to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), 76% of people in Washington who are eligible for the updated COVID-19 bivalent booster have not yet received it. DOH has released a new information sheet highlighting the importance of the bivalent booster vaccine and encouraging people to get vaccinated.

The resource outlines the nationwide and statewide effects of COVID-19 and the effectiveness of the booster; adults who have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster are less likely to be hospitalized than those who have not received a booster. DOH recommends everyone 5 years and older receive their bivalent booster at least two months after their primary series of vaccines or their last booster dose.

This resource is intended to be displayed in health care settings and can be distributed to community members considering getting a booster dose.
