During the October 5 MPV Response Workgroup meeting, DOH shared a presentation about the MPV Vaccine Equity Pilot Program. You can view a recording of the presentation by following this link or review the PowerPoint presentation itself by clicking here.
The MPV Vaccine Equity Pilot Program offers an opportunity to expand JYNNEOS vaccine access in Washington, providing vaccine beyond our state’s initial allocation. It is focused on reaching communities disproportionately affected by monkeypox (MPV) who are also experiencing vaccination disparities. The CDC is looking for new, innovative, equity-focused vaccination events reaching people who may be facing barriers including language access, access to vaccination sites or technology to schedule appointments, fear of stigma, and vaccine hesitancy.
CBOs are encouraged to apply to this program to receive MPV vaccine for their communities. The application form and a fact sheet explaining more about the program can be downloaded by clicking the links below.
Representatives from the Washington State Department of Health are able to provide support to CBOs in completing this Pilot Program application.
If you wish to receive assistance in the completion of your application, please reach out by email to doh-lofr.imt@doh.wa.gov.
Who can apply?
According to the CDC vaccination projects may be created by a state, territorial, or local health department, a tribal government or tribal organization, or a local non-governmental organization. Projects must seek to address vaccination disparities among one or more priority population groups most affected by monkeypox.
You can learn more about the program at the CDC webpage here.
