Each of you play an important role in working toward health equity in Washington state amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are passionate about pursuing additional health equity projects, we hope you will consider joining the Department of Health (DOH) Health Equity Zones Community Advisory Council.
The Community Advisory Council, which is made up of community members and stakeholders from public health agencies and community health organizations, is currently accepting applications and nominations through Monday, November 22 at 12pm. This council will work together to determine the next Health Equity Zones initiative and will play an essential role in ensuring those efforts are centered around communities most affected by health inequities.
DOH is hosting an optional virtual gathering for those who want to learn more about Health Equity Zones, the Community Advisory Council and the application process. This will take place Thursday, November 4, from 4pm-6pm via Zoom. To join this conversation, use the following Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85728609611?pwd=REJ0QXJST0lEbFJqSVhVS21SVW0vZz09. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available during the meeting. Please contact Anne Farrell-Sheffer at Anne.FarrellSheffer@doh.wa.gov for any additional accessibility needs.
