Testing can be a helpful tool in preventing the spread of COVID-19, especially when combined with other recommended practices such as mask-wearing, frequent handwashing, avoiding large gatherings and getting vaccinated. As communities face another spike in COVID-19 cases, testing options are in high demand.
Testing Resources
As inventory allows, Washington residents can order testing kits from the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) through the Say Yes! COVID Test website. Due to high demand, DOH’s inventory is currently out of stock. Members of a household can still submit their information (name and address) and be placed in the queue to receive at-home testing kits once they have been re-stocked. Alternative options recommended by DOH include:
- Order a free testing kit from the Federal program at CovidTests.gov
- If you have health insurance, most insurers will now pay you back for up to 8 at-home tests per month for each person on your plan. For more information, visit the CMS.gov Webpage.
- Get tested at a testing location near you.
- Purchase at-home tests at local retailers and pharmacies.
