Fully Vaccinated Adults 18 and Older Now Eligible for a Booster Dose

December 1, 2021

Adults are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), all fully vaccinated adults over the age of 18 are now eligible for a booster dose.

Priority Populations for Booster Doses

Adults who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine should get a booster dose at least two months after their original dose.

Adults who received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to get a booster dose six months after their second dose. Those aged 18 and older living in a long-term care setting or anyone aged 50 and older are specifically encouraged to get a booster dose.
