Grant Opportunity: Apply by November 30 to Promote Digital Equity in King County Communities Impacted by COVID

November 23, 2021

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen varied levels of digital literacy, internet access and digital device access across the state. In many cases, digital inequity has further isolated communities already disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

King County is offering $2 million in grant funding to organizations interested in increasing digital access for communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities; seniors; limited-English-proficient residents; individuals with disabilities and communication barriers; low-income, unemployed and underemployed residents; those experiencing homelessness; or those residing in rural areas.

Grant funding rewards will range from $25,000 to $100,000 and can be used toward various digital equity efforts, including but not limited to creating community technology labs, supplying internet-enabled devices, providing culturally responsive digital literacy courses, or technical assistance staffing and training.

Applications are due by 5pm on November 30 and application reviews will begin in early December. Applicants will be notified by King County of their application status no later than January 31, 2022. With grant-related questions or to request this grant in another language, email oesjgrants@kingcounty.gov.
