COVID-19 vaccines will soon be available for purchase on the open market, allowing qualified medical providers to purchase vaccines from manufacturers and third-party distributors directly.
Until now, the federal government has been a key player in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, which will shift to a private market model once commercialization occurs.
The process will follow the distribution model for other vaccines, such as those for the flu and shingles. A program plans to offer COVID-19 vaccines to enrolled providers through the Childhood Vaccine Program and Adult Vaccine Program.
To learn whether you meet enrollment requirements to purchase COVID-19 vaccines, visit the above program webpages or contact WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov or WAAdultVaccines@doh.wa.gov.
